Cosmic
modulators are basically box kaleidoscopes conceived and created to
provide visual entertainment. I came up with the idea of The Cosmic
Modulator many years ago while picking up scraps of mirror. I made the
first one in August of 2003 and sold my first one in November of the
same year. I have sold over 80 in the last two and a half years. They
are copyrighted. I have sold over 100 in the past five years.
I
make a base out of high-quality picture frame molding. The inside walls
of the boxes are mirrors. The outside walls are usually panels covered
with cloth. Each panel is upholstered by hand using acid free fabric
glue. I cut another three sided frame for the top of the Modulator .
The whole box is then secured with a high quality super strong glue.
All have brass feet and are signed and numbered.

When the
box is done I add objects that go with the theme of the Modulator. To
get the kaleidoscope effect, you peer over the front edge and look towards
the back. The mirrors reflect to eternity. It's fun and you can personalize
and change the inside objects at your whim.
I make
personalized modulators using anything you would like. You give me the
theme and I'll create a one-of-a-kind Modulator just for you. Custom
Modulator prices start at $175.00.
Visit The
Framemakers and take a look. There are usually about 30 different ones
to pick from. Most are $75.00 some of the more elaborate ones are in
the $100.00-$200.00+ range. For now I only sell them in the store.
I don't sell them anywhere else.
