Old
Waterville Postcard Book
Did you know:
JC Penneys' was once downtown?
Head of Falls was once filled with residencial homes?
There was a trolley running Main Street?
Colby College was next to the railroad depot?
Why Waterville is known as "Elm City"?
These
books are a slice of Waterville during the late 19th and early 20th century.
The changes to this city from the days of horse-and-buggy to just before
urban renewal in the 1960s are apparent in this volume.

These 24-paged books, containing over 80 full-colour, high-resolution
images, are for sale at the Framemakers for $25.
These
postcards of Waterville are from Bill's collection, concentrating on the
downtown area. Some buildings, such as the Waterville Public Library and
the Unitarian Church, are still standing; others, such as the Coburn Classical
Institute and the residences of Head Of Falls, are no longer. These books
are a step toward preserving the history of Waterville.
